Nemo Finds A Home On Ice

Popular family film skates into Orleans

One of the best-selling animated films to date has been turned into a live-action production that has made its way to Vegas. Vibrant costumes, brightly colored sets and figure skaters help bring Disney/Pixar's Finding Nemo presented by Disney on Ice to life. The family movie, which raked in more than $864 million in box offices worldwide, brings audience members into an underwater adventure starring the lucky-finned clownfish, Nemo, his overprotective father Marlin and the absent-minded Dory.

Production designer John Arnone assembled the vastness of the ocean and even created a life-sized blue whale to give the audience a sense of being under the ocean's surface.

He also created an aquarium, complete with a bubbling treasure chest, in which props are positioned in close proximity of each other to give the Tank Gang a feel of what it's like for real fish to be in a tank. Costume designer Scott Lane kept his creations simple by draping fabric from a frame to create what he calls a theatrical interpretation of the animated character.
