The Weed of Crime Bears Bitter Fruit

At least we hope that's the case for whoever stole club promoter and DJ Jack LaFleur's 2006 Lincoln Mark LT truck. The silver and black truck has chrome rims, dark-tinted windows and a carpeted bed. Along with LaFleur's mixing gear, music and camera equipment was a watch given to him by his father in 1965. If you see it, call Las Vegas Metro at 311 or Crime Stoppers anonymously at 385-5555.

Bloom Still on the Rose

After three and half years with late-night hotspot Drai's, Kassia Rose resigned February 28. The former Crazy Girls dancer and current college student spent a weekend skulking around Empire Ballroom the before taking on the role of VIP manager with the club's Late Night team. "Gino [LoPinto] welcomed my opinion. He was actively listening to me and gave actual feedback," says Rose. "I felt really respected." Accepting the job also means a reunion with former colleague Ray Davila Jr. Both spent time with Clique Entertainment while climbing the nightlife ladder. "I'm so excited to be working with Ray Davila again!" Look for Rose Fridays and Saturdays.

Vegas Sprouting Up All Over

If you're in Austin for South by Southwest and miss home, swing by the new Beauty Bar at 617 E. Seventh St. This marks the sixth of Paul Devitt's enterprises nationwide, including one in San Diego. Vegas' outpost continues to draw in the hipster crowd with great bands, top DJs (including Graham Funk), First Friday's Get Back after-party, and now poetry nights the second Saturday of each month. And if life finds you in Manhattan, you can drop into the Double Down Saloon at 14 Ave. A at Houston. A Weekly Readers' Choice winner two years running, the punked-out bar famous for its ass juice and bacon martinis is open every day from noon until 4 a.m. The Double Down closed?! Okay, maybe it's not really like the original.

No ... More ... Plant ... Metaphors ...

Ever get tired of dressing up, waiting in line and paying $10-plus for a drink when all you want to do is go out and tear it up? A new outfit in town, Vegas Pubcrawlers, might just be your ticket. You start off at New York-New York's Big Apple Bar and then via chartered bus go to "four of the hottest bars in Vegas for drinks, dancing, food and live entertainment," according to the press release. Cost is $75, which also gets you an official Vegas Pubcrawlers T-shirt, a framed photo, food and drink discounts and—best of all—alternative transportation at the end of the bacchanalia. Late-Night Bird Gets the Worm

Cocktail o' the Week

Boa Fusion

Boa Steakhouse, $12

Ingredients

1.5 ounces Montecristo Rum infusion

Perfection Cognac

2 ounces pineapple juice

1 tsp brown sugar

Brown sugar sprinkles to garnish

Boa Montecristo Infusion

Peel, core and dice 5 to 6 pineapples. Combine in a large glass container with Montecristo, 7 to 8 sliced-open vanilla beans and 6 to 7 cinnamon sticks. Let sit for three days. Strain into liquor bottle.

This sounds much more appetizing than the steakhouse's Boa 4.05 cocktail, which has balsamic vinegar and a black-pepper rim (though everyone who's tried it swears by it).
