The fact that the Detroit trio is exclusively touring the nation’s libraries this summer is far more compelling than its most recent release. A few choice moments aside, Get the Guests plays like a redundant take on Ted Leo’s power-pop mixed with a less interesting version of The Thermals’ narrative rock. Grab a good book instead.
