When you believe in MAGIC

It's that time of the year—when the hottest designers debut their newest lines, and we go out and try to scrub the vodka cranberry stains out of ours. The return of MAGIC Marketplace has already started to stir things up, and before the NBA comes to town to steal the thunder, here is a quick peek at where the hot duds and the hot models are with the hot parties. Although the official events at the Hilton and the Las Vegas Convention Center don't start until Tuesday, the clubs are already on top of the product—launching blitz. Pure will have the Elite Eight on Friday, with former Playboy, FHM, Stuff, Maxim, Vogue and Esquire models vying for a contract before moving over to Tangerine on Saturday. Also at Pure on Tuesday, Travis Barker hosts his Famous Stars and Straps fashion showcase with the now—famous DJ AM drum collaboration to follow. On February 15, Nicky Hilton hosts a fashion show debuting her couture line Nicholai and Chick, with DJ AM again on the turntables.

Indulge Fridays at Body English will make sure the local fashionistas aren't left out with the Love Jones Fashion Show presented by Booty Parlor (free gifts!), and gals arriving before midnight enjoy free champagne all night. Influence Tuesdays at Studio 54 throws the Celebrity Fashion Show, highlighting Christian Audigier, Ed Hardy and Smet; and Kelly Hu will host the Marceau Fashion Showcase at Tangerine on Wednesday.

Tao starts their three—day MAGIC series with the BPM Overamerica Party on Tuesday; Wednesday is the Project afterparty in the Club and the Monarchy Clothing party in the Lounge; Thursday wraps things up there with the Hudson Party along with Creative Recreation.

Heralding the Griffin

No longer a myth, the Griffin lounge is now up and flying at 511 Fremont Street Downtown, and the hip and the happy—houring are already flocking to the Griffin's cozy cave of brick and stone. With plenty of comfy, open seating and two roaring fireplaces, the belly of this beast opens Saturday and Sunday at 9 p.m., and Monday through Friday at 4 p.m. Owners Aaron Chepenik and Jonathan Hensleigh of LA are laser—focused on the locals market, offering dollar—off drinks 'til 9 p.m. on weekdays.
