Dead stars

Celebrity satire lives! And dies!

Aaron Thompson

Just because celebrities are practically self-parodying these days, that’s no reason not to enjoy parodies of them as dead celebrities, is it?

That’s where “Hollywood Zombies,” a new series of trading cards by Topps, comes in. Now you can collect your favorite celebrities as their wacky zombie alter-egos, engaging in devious, disgusting and degenerative acts, all vividly illustrated on 3-by-2-inch trading cards. Here’s Skulk Hogan, doing a little more than simply pounding his chest in victory. Or check out Lindsay Loco, complete with skin melting off her face as she mows down a paparazzo while driving Herbie the Love Bug. Then there’s Paris Hellton, rising from the depths of hell onto a red carpet. With hundreds of other celebrities torturing or being tortured, their fake bios on the back, “Hollywood Zombies” sends our pop culture to hell and shows us the results. Available at comic book stores nationwide.
