1.

Party. How many aliases can one man possibly need? Dutch trance producer Ferry Corsten—aka System F, Albion, Moonman, Pulp Victim, 4x4, Ransom, Sidewinder, Exiter, Ferr, Riptide, Skywalker, Kinky Toys, Lunalife, A Jolly Good Fellow, Free Inside, Raya Shaku, Firmly Underground, Digital Control, Eon, Funk Einsatz, East West, Cyber F, Bypass, The Nutter and probably at least two more he’s come up with since we started writing this—is still working on an answer to that question. The eighth-ranked DJ in the world according to thedjlist.com, Corsten spins as part of Body English’s Ministry of Sound series, in support of CD/DVD compilation Passport: United States of America. With DJ Jack LaFleur. June 27, 10:30 p.m., $20. Body English, 693-4000.

Book a date. Tired of trying to meet people in loud clubs and crowded bars? Looking to talk to someone face to face without the intervention of large quantities of alcohol? Perhaps you need to try speed-dating ... at the library. The second installment of the popular Book a Date event is called Book an Adventure, with participants rotating every few minutes to chat with a new prospective mate, using travel as a common-interest icebreaker. Best of all, you won’t have to worry about spilling your drink on your date. Spring Valley Library, 507-3820. June 23, 2 p.m. (ages 40+) and 4 p.m. (ages 20-40), free.

3.

Freak out! Tomoyo Fukao’s musical project Shirt in the Jupon is a hidden gem away from Las Vegas’ current fascination with the ’80s-revival and post-hardcore music movements. A steamroller of psych-rock, J-rock and good ol’ dirty garage from his home studio located in Henderson, Fukao’s project is as musically addicting as it is alluring. See his Far-East freakout June 21 at the Bunkhouse at 10 p.m. 384-4536.

4.

Bust a gut. The comedic Axis of Evil—Middle Eastern funnymen Maz Jobrani, Ahmed Ahmed, Aron Kader and special guest Dean Obeidallah—have taken their four distinct brands of uniting-the-divided humor to Comedy Central, to DVD and on the road. This July sees the shooting of the Obeidallah-produced The Watch List, the first television series ever to star all Middle Eastern-Americans ... including his Axis buddies. In the meantime, expect plenty of political barbs, observational absurdities and cultural exaggerations at the final blow-up ... er, blow-out date of their national tour. June 22, 8 p.m., $25-$65. The Joint, 693-5066.

5.

Get your eat on. Helping young people is always a good look. If you can do it while simultaneously stuffing your gullet with mighty fine grub from great cooks, well, that’s a helluva two-fer—and the Alliance of Black Culinarians’ annual Gourmet Grazer should be right up your esophageal alley. A compendium of the Valley’s finest African-American hotel and restaurant chefs will prepare gourmet delights, the proceeds of which fund scholarships for aspiring culinarians. Tickets are available at the Lucky Streak Boutique inside Fitzgerald’s Casino & Hotel. Chow June 24 from 4 to 7 p.m., $30, Cashman Field Exhibit Hall B (850 Las Vegas Blvd. N.), 386-7100.

6.

Feel the blows. See Ricky Hatton vs. Jose Luis Castillo (junior welterweight championship fight). An infallible bout, with two of boxing’s best. Don’t miss it. You’ll wanna kick your own ass if you do. Trust us on this one. Join thousands of authentic Brits and Mexicans at the Thomas & Mack on Saturday, June 23, at 8 p.m. $50-$600. 739-FANS, or www.unlvtickets.com.
