DREAM ZONE for Week of Aug. 2-8

Lauri Quinn Loewenberg

My boyfriend’s mother recently passed away, and he is having a difficult time with it. I dreamed his family was staying at a hotel. His mom was there, too. She had a note for me that read: “I told Jim you were the one worthy of marriage.” The note also expressed concerns for Jim and how he will need time to grieve. She attached this note to a small ball of yarn. I had to finish rolling it.

Lauri: A hotel is a place we are in for a short time. Your dream is assuring you that Jim will be in this place of grieving temporarily. Now, who’s to say that Jim’s mom wasn’t actually coming through to you in this dream? Maybe she was, but from a psychological standpoint, she is standing in for your own ability to comfort and “mother” Jim right now. This is reminding you that you need to give him the time he needs to get through this. The ball of yarn is significant. Is his family very “close-knit”? The yarn is the love that ties you together and may eventually weave his family to yours. His mom giving you the ball of yarn is her approval. But you had to roll it up because it is not ready to be woven yet. Jim has to get through his grief. The possibility of weaving your lives together is there ... you just have to roll it up in a nice safe ball until it’s time.

Michele replies: This is amazing! I was stumped with what the yarn symbolized. This makes total sense!
