I love The Killers and Vegas and your article

Absolutely great article about The Killers' frontman Brandon Flowers ["When he was young," February 15]. The Killers do discuss openly that they felt they have been loved and accepted all over the world (especially Brit) but not so loved in Las Vegas, their hometown. A hometown they love soooo much and are proud to call themselves residents. I've been a Killers fan from the start, and even if I am not from Las Vegas (I'm from Houston) I am a forever fan of Las Vegas and will see into purchasing a second home in the area. The Killers' faithfulness to Las Vegas, as expressed in their music, has attracted many of their fans to Las Vegas. Again, I do not live in Las Vegas, however I always check the Las Vegas Weekly website ... ain't that funny. Again, great article; it was well-written, and it was creative how you used many of The Killers' own lyrics. I know that they would be proud.

I love the Brandon Flowers

Oh my god. That was so awesome. I love Brandon Flowers, and that picture inside the Las Vegas Weekly really captured his essence. I think the story really captures his music, too, and that's why I picked up like 200 copies. So if there's a lot missing from the racks this week, then you guys now know why. Love ya.

I love Vegas, and Detroit sucks

Attention Joshua Longobardy,

Regarding your recent article "Nude girls in the sky?" [February 15], what is the homeowners association for the neighborhood on the opposite side of the freeway complaining about? They didn't know this type of advertising existed in Las Vegas when they moved there? Why don't they pack and move to Michigan? Where I reside (Detroit), the number of billboards are limited. Our economy is ailing miserably. There is not much to advertise on billboards out here because businesses are closing at an unsettling rate.

Many of us here in Michigan are selling heirlooms, furniture and housing at basement bargain prices in order to face an inevitable: RELOCATION. Many of us are also considering Sin City as a destination. We have no qualms about lurid advertising if we could only enjoy the job market the "concerned citizens" in your town are taking passive advantage of.

Memo to Councilman Gary Reese:

Chrysler will slash more than 3,600 factory jobs in the Detroit area by eliminating a shift at its truck plant in Warren and cutting work at engine plants, stamping plants and other facilities.

Add to that the 2,000 salaried jobs Chrysler is getting rid of, most of them at its Auburn Hills headquarters, and Metro Detroit stands to lose more than 5,500 jobs—42 percent of the 13,000 the automaker will trim nationwide between now and 2009 ... —Source: Detroit News, 2/15/2007.

I'm nuts, and I watch airplanes

Dear Editor,

In regard to the comment that the airplanes on the signs at McCarran seem to be turning left: I always figured that they were depicting leaving flights, possibly alliterating left and leaving. But never saw a contradiction between the lanes going to the right and the planes on the signs. Thank you,

I love the food cover!

Hi Art Director Benjamen Purvis,

This is a note to say this week's February 22 cover was very nice. Is there a way to obtain a copy of the print, other than just keeping a copy of the magazine? The last one I liked this much also featured hot women and food.
