Las Vegas native Brian Regan signs Comedy Central Deal

Successfully bringing another stand-up pony into their comedy corral, Comedy Central today announced the signing of Las Vegas native Brian Regan to a multi-platform talent deal.

As excerpted from the official press release:

NEW YORK, April 23, 2007 -- COMEDY CENTRAL has signed comedian Brian Regan to a multi-platform talent deal including stand-up tours, stand-up specials, a development deal and DVD release, it was announced today by Elizabeth Porter, senior vice president, specials and talent, COMEDY CENTRAL.

The multi-platform deal with Regan includes a network development deal, theater-size tours and two original, one-hour stand-up specials to premiere on COMEDY CENTRAL.  The first of the two stand-up specials was taped last week at the Barclay Theater in Irvine, CA and will debut on Sunday, June 10 at 10:00 p.m. ET/PT.  COMEDY CENTRAL Home Entertainment is slated to release this one-hour special on DVD in the fall.  The second one-hour special will tape and air in 2008.

"Brian Regan In Concert: A COMEDY CENTRAL Live Event" will kick off on Friday, June 8 at the North Fork Theatre in Long Island and will travel to more than 40 cities nationwide including San Diego, New Orleans and Philadelphia.  The full tour schedule (TBA), info and links to purchase tickets are available at comedycentral.com and brianregan.com.  The second leg of the tour will take place from January-May 2008.

Regan is a regular guest on "Late Show with David Letterman" and has starred in his own stand-up specials on COMEDY CENTRAL and Showtime.  In 2004, Regan released the hugely successful DVD, "I Walked on the Moon," a follow-up to his 1997 CD, "Brian Regan Live" which has sold over 100,000 copies.  Regan's 2006 tour played to sold-out theaters and standing ovations in 74 cities, including a sold-out show at Avery Fisher Hall at Lincoln Center in New York City.
