Carl Bell’s Las Vegas

Spencer Patterson

Betcha didn’t know the Fuel guitarist has called Henderson home the past five years. You did? Well then, fanboys and girls, betcha didn’t know his preferred raw fish joint is I Love Sushi on Eastern. Read on for a few of his other local faves ...

Place to drink: Roadrunner. “They’ve got those comfortable chairs, and you can just sit around and chill out. Plus it’s close to the house.”

Late-night snack: Roberto’s Taco Shop. “24-7, anything you want. Carne asada burrito.”

Casino hangout: Hard Rock’s Circle Bar. “No lines, you can get right to the bar, you don’t have to wait to get into some club, and it’s got a rock vibe.”

Date destination: Nobu. “The yellowtail with jalapeno is killer.”

Venue: The Joint. “It’s always been great to us. I’ve never played the Pearl, but I saw the Smashing Pumpkins there and it was nice.”

Local band: Magna-Fi. “We saw them one night in town and they were amazing. We took them out on tour with us for a while.”

Strip production show: O. “I can’t imagine how somebody could even conceive of that show and put it together. You can’t even describe it.”

Outdoor sanctuary: Mount Charleston. “When it gets super-hot I like to take a drive up there. A lot of people don’t realize you can ski so close by.”

Spot to ride his chopper: Around town. “It’s mainly a ZIP-code bike for me, though riding around the desert south of town is a lot of fun.”

Intangibles: Sunny winters and bug-free summers. “Back East, gray sets in all winter, but in Vegas when it’s 50 degrees it’s a sunny 50 degrees. And there’s not a lot of flying bugs in the summer. You can sit out by your pool at night and grill without being carried off by mosquitoes.”

Fuel with Lifehouse, Vanessa Carlton, Colbie Caillat, Paolo Nutini and more at Bite of Las Vegas. October 20, 11 a.m.-10 p.m., $8 ($7 with a can of food). Desert Breeze Park, mix941.fm/pages/956432.pub.
