Comedy

Busy body

Julie Seabaugh

It’s been a breakneck couple of years for comedian Josh Blue. First came his big Season 4 win on Last Comic Standing against such established talents as Bil Dwyer, Ty Barnett and Gabriel Iglesias. Then there were the appearances on Mind of Mencia, Live with Regis and Kelly and The Ellen DeGeneres Show, the latter being the first time a comic had ever appeared on the program. His hour-long Bravo special, 7 More Days in the Tank, was a ratings juggernaut, his paintings and sculptures sell for top dollar, and as a U.S. Paralympic soccer forward, he even competed at Athens’ 2004 summer games. With a schedule of clubs, theaters and disability fundraisers packed clear through next year—not to mention the fact that his son Simon was born last month—his cerebral palsy may bring in the curious, but it’s his highly animated style and lightning-quick reactions that keep audiences coming back.

April 4, 8 p.m., $25-$37. House of Blues, 632-7600.
