White Lion is back?! Holy shit! Maybe I should watch my language, in case my eighth-grade self gets a hold of a time machine, because he’s surely hurtling through time and space to get to this concert. New album Return of the Pride (out April 29)—featuring only singer Mike Tramp of the original members—sounds great, almost as good as the Fight to Survive, Pride, Big Game and Mane Attraction cassettes I had as a kid. Mike Tramp still has the long locks he had in the poster that I won at the Minnesota State Fair and hung in my bedroom (back when such behavior was still considered heterosexually acceptable). So many memories: jamming on my Walkman to “Wait,” crying to “When the Children Cry,” the fan poster I made with magic markers and magazine cutouts.
