Quick Bites: Salt & Straw arrives, Sangria at Jaleo and more Las Vegas food and drink news

Mandalay Bay will open Fleur Steak on October 19, replacing the previously announced Stripsteak pop-up dining experience. Stripsteak is set to close October 14 for a remodel, with a reopening scheduled for early 2023. Fleur Steak, at the former Fleur restaurant space near Aureole, will be operate Tuesday through Sunday from 4 until 10 p.m. until Stripsteak reopens. The menu of steakhouse classics will include Caesar salad, shrimp cocktail, beef tartare, filet mignon, braised lamb shank and more.

Jaleo at the Cosmopolitan will host Sangria Hour on October 19 from 5 to 6:30 p.m., introducing an updated sangria hour menu including samples from the new “board and bottle” selection of five Spanish cheeses or cured Ibérico meats paired with a bottle of red, white or sparkling wine. The event also includes live entertainment, flowing sangria and passed porrónes. Tickets cost $25 and available at jaleo.com.

Veranda at Four Seasons Las Vegas will host a special Beer vs. Wine pairing dinner on October 21 for $135 per person. Chef William Ledesma will craft a five-course prix fixe menu to be paired with flights of brews from Able Baker Brewing Company and varietals from California’s Wente Vineyards. Among the dishes are a yellowfin tuna tower, vanilla bean poached pear salad, lobster ravioli and center cut Angus New York sirloin with Hudson Valley foie gras. Salt & Straw Ice Cream will open its first Nevada location at UnCommons in early 2023. The family-run business founded in 2011, which has locations across the country, will feature 12 classic flavors, along with a rotating monthly menu.

Eataly Las Vegas at Park MGM has launched VGK Tailgate Vino, featuring unlimited food and drinks for three hours leading up to puck drop at Golden Knights games at T-Mobile Arena next door. For $75 for locals or $95 for non locals, guests can explore bottomless Italian wines, beer, street food-inspired bites and more. For more info, visit eataly.com.

Tacos & Tequila at Palace Station has launched a new two for $30 menu, allowing guests to choose favorite appetizer and entree options to create a customized meal. Among the selections are loaded fries, shredded chicken enchiladas with tomatillo cream sauce, and a barbacoa beef burrito. The menu is available Monday through Thursday.

Carversteak at Resorts World has introduced new seasonal menu items, including French onion soup, roasted Colorado lamb chop with crispy polenta, braised beef shortrib and bone marrow pie, Maine scallops with cauliflower puree and delicata squash, lobster mac and cheese gratin, and a twice baked potato with Irish yellow cheddar, smoked bacon and chive crème fraiche.

Finger Licking Foodie Tours has launched a new series of tours designed especially for locals who want to take a deep dive into their favorite cuisines. Offered every four to six weeks, the new guided tours highlight a different food each time, with the first, focused on pizza, set for November 6. It will visit Metro Pizza, Evel Pie and Pizza Rock, with guests bypassing lines for immediate seating and VIP service to enjoy two distinct pizzas plus a local craft beer at each venue.
