Quick Bites: Las Vegas restaurants making news this week

Tao Group Hospitality has announced it will open the Las Vegas version of Cathédrale, its French-Mediterranean restaurant in New York City’s Lower East Side, at Aria on May 1. The menu will be created by Chief Culinary Officer Ralph Scamardella and Executive Chef Jason Hall, featuring coastal cuisine from regions of France, Spain, Italy and Greece. An expansive wine list and new takes on classic cocktails will complement the food, and the 266-seat restaurant is designed by the Rockwell Group in the former Sage space. It will be open Sunday through Thursday from 5 until 10:30 p.m.; and Friday and Saturday from 5 until 11 p.m.

The recently announced Retro by Voltaggio, the first Las Vegas restaurant from Michael and Bryan Voltaggio, is now set to open on May 3 at Mandalay Bay in the Aureole space. Aureole will close after service on April 14.

After 16 years on the Las Vegas Strip at the Fashion Show mall, Stripburger closed after its last day of service on April 2. Hospitality giant Lettuce Entertain You has plans to introduce a new concept in the indoor-outdoor space and will announce those details soon, according to a statement.

Tailgate Social at Palace Station will introduce a new local craft beer program on National Beer Day, April 7, and continue to serve the new offerings throughout the month. The bar will pour four beers from Las Vegas breweries for $13 for each pint, from Crafthaus Brewery, Las Vegas Brewing Co., and Big Dog's Dog's Brewing Company. Tailgate offers more than 27 beers on tap and by the bottle.

Chef Roma Kitchen in MacDonald Highlands will introduce a new brunch menu on Easter Sunday, April 9, available on Sundays from 10 a.m. until 2 p.m. Dishes include Orange Creamsicle French Toast, Eggs Bennie on ciabatta with prosciutto and pesto, veggie frittata, Shrimp Scampi, avocado and bacon salad and more.

The Stirling Club, the members-only social club at Two Turnberry Place, has launched a special local pop-up series available to its members and open to the community. It began on April 2 with Stay Tuned Burgers and continues April 16 with Down 2 Earth Plant Based Cuisine and Jawgogi’s, April 23 with Arepaheads, and April 30 with Solamente Pizza. PopNpies is also serving during each event, held by Vegas Test Kitchen and Secretburger at the Stirling Club pool from 6 until 8 p.m. Guests can reserve their spots and buy food in advance at secretburger.com.

Resorts World Las Vegas will transform the lounge at the Genting Palace restaurant into the Golden Monkey Tiki Lounge, set for its debut on April 17. The classic tiki bar concept will feature signature tropical drinks including punch bowls, Jungle Birds and Scorpions. It will be open daily from 5 p.m. until 2 a.m.

Brezza at Resorts World is now offering lunch service, available daily from 11:30 a.m. until 3 p.m. Among the offerings are the Brezza Caesar, heirloom caprese salad with buffalo mozzarella and basil pesto, Tuscan carne cruda, the Mortadella Melt with pistachio pesto and robiola cheese, margherita pizza, pan-seared skate with artichokes and fennel, and bucatini alla Amatriciana.
