SecretBurger.com is launching an exciting new initiative called Cook for a Cause on September 9-13, featuring cook-at-home kits designed by some of the city’s favorite chefs, with proceeds going to the Shade Tree.

“We are excited to present our first-ever Cook for a Cause, benefiting the many women and children throughout our community who rely on the Shade Tree’s programs and services,” said Jolene Mannina, founder of SecretBurger.com. “I’m so proud of the culinary leaders who have stepped up to the plate to give back to the growing number of women and children escaping from a domestic violence or homeless situation. With so many people staying home during the pandemic, these meal kits are the perfect way for foodies to connect with accomplished chefs across the valley and create a fantastic meal for your family, all while supporting a great cause.”

Starting at $45, the meal kits feed two or more and come equipped with either a live online class, a prerecorded video or a set of instructions for a fun and convenient culinary experience in your own kitchen. Participating chefs and restaurateurs include Sonia El-Nawal from Rooster Boy Café, Chris Conlon from Piero’s, Todd Harrington from Honey Salt, Bryce Krausman from DW Bistro and Nina Manchev from Forte Tapas. For more information or to purchase a specialty meal kit, visit secretburger.com. To donate to the Shade Tree, visit theshadetree.org.
