CINEVEGAS: Da Winners Are …

This year's CineVegas jury was presided over by screenwriter-director Allison Anders, actor Anthony Mackie, and L.A. Weekly film critic Ella Taylor.

The Grand Jury Award went to In Memory of My Father, written and directed by Christopher Jaymes. Starring Jeremy Sisto, Judy Greer, Matt Keeslar, Monet Mazur, Eric Michael Cole and Christopher Jaymes, it tells the story of three siblings at their father's wake. The wake quickly evolves into a self-obsessed Hollywood party, and the siblings' struggles and failings to be different from their selfish movie-producer father are exposed.

The Special Jury Prize for Ensemble Acting was won by Red Doors. Directed and written by Georgia Lee, it tells the story of a bizarrely dysfunctional Chinese-American family living in the New York suburbs. The cast includes Jacqueline Kim, Tzi Ma, Freda Foh Chen, Kathy Shao-Lin Lee, Elaine Kao and Rossif Sutherland.

The Audience Favorite winner was Buy It Now. Written and directed by Antonio Campos, it is the story of a teenage girl who sells her virginity on eBay.
