Xania’s Hot Spots

May 11–17

Xania Woodman

Thursday, May 11

Hard Rock: Chris Clouse is back every Thursday on the Simon Kitchen & Bar patio at 10:30 p.m., singing all your favorite cover tunes, which are mixed by a DJ into awesome live mash-ups right before your eyes ... and ears. Grab dinner before hand and you've got quite the perfect date night ... Guys, are you taking notes?

Tao: Worship Thursday is hosted by Grammy Award-winning hip-hop violinist Miri Ben-Ari.

Friday, May 12

Empire Ballroom: DJs Faarsheed in the ballroom, Dru in the Gallery (where ladies drink free) and Keith Evan and Andy Caldwell on the patio. Will Caldwell be playing tracks from his soon-to-be released Universal Truth? Guess you'll have to be there to find out.

Ice: Paul Harris of Dirty Vegas with resident Joey Mazzola.

Tao: BlackBook and Monarchy Clothing presents All Roads Lead To Tao, where you'll party the night away with top promoters from LA, Orange County and San Diego. Get a Monarchy Clothing gift bag when you buy a VIP table.

Pure: Fifty ladies of Hawaiian Tropic descend upon Pure in a banana-scented, tanned fury.

Studio 54: In celebration of the 23rd anniversary of the original Studio 54, the Vegas stepchild is giving you a present: the first 200 people get free line passes.

Seamless: Mikee D. and Brian Hart present DJ Chris Soul of NYC.

Saturday, May 13

Empire Ballroom: DJs Joey Mazzola and Dave Onex in the ballroom, Dru in the Gallery and Jason Lema, Keith Evan and Carlos Sanchez with saxophonist Tommy Marth on the patio.

Krave: The news came in too late for us to get the Hot Spot logo in the calendar but we refuse to leave our dear readers in the lurch. Krave is your Gay Pride Week party headquarters. Celebrate with the cast of Here! TV's Dante's Cove. Performing will be dance vocalist Lonnie Gordon, along with the Airotic Fly Boys. Girlbar, the popular lesbian party, will be celebrating next door in the Krave Lounge. We're guessing bisexuals will be running back and forth all night.

Ice: Uberzone and the Bassbin Twins with resident Faarsheed.

Pure: HBO's Entourage Season Three wrap party where you can hug it out with actors Adrian Grenier, Jeremy Piven, Kevin Connolly, Kevin Dillon and Jerry Ferrara. That is if you can get past their bodyguards.

Tangerine: If you missed the Hawaiian Tropic models (or if you proposed and are still waiting for an answer), they're here!

Sunday, May 14

Body English: Medical School was never this fun! Body English becomes your recovery from Rehab, where ladies dressed as naughty nurses drink free bubbly all night.

House Of Blues: The premiere of Noise Sundays begins at 11 p.m. Think of it as an homage to all things house, featuring—what else but—house, hard house, global house, deep house, trance, techno and mash-ups by DJs Vegas Vibe, Ikon and Citizen X, along with the Flaunt Foxes dancers. Noise brings back the dance-hall style electronic music parties of old but still features those comforts we've come to love, such as bottle service and VIP booths.

Ghostbar: Playboy Playmate and DJ Colleen Shannon starts her Palms residency. Is she better at spinning or posing? You decide.

Light: Got MILF? Get some at Light's annual Mother's Day Party.

Rehab: Rehab honors the MILFS—Mothers In Lingerie Feeling Sexy, of course—with DJs Scotty Boy and Chicago's Bad Boy Bill.

Rain: Staind with guests Three Days Grace and Hurt in concert.

Monday, May 15

Firefly Restaurant: Listening Room Mondays presents More Than Musik with DJs Ville, Bjork and Joey Da Juice spinning soul, funk, disco, R&B, neosoul, house and down-tempo.

Foundation Room: A triple threat! Celebrate the Angels Gathering, Mario Longo's birthday and the Soulsupplement Records release party with DJs Curtis Bledsoe and Keith Evan in the lounge, Justin Hoffman in Shangri-La and the Martinez Brothers in the dining room.

Jet: Guest DJs Nic Fanciullu and Paul Woolford cross the pond from the UK for Industry Mondays.

Tuesday, May 16

Ghostbar: Meat the voracious vixens of the sexy show Bite. (Get it? "Meat"? We're so clever!)

Tabu: Open Decks welcomes DJ Bobby D.

Tao: Temple Tuesdays kicks off for the first time at midnight. Tao New York's own DJ Omar Galeano and Italy's DJ Digital Boy serve up global house. The strict dress code relaxes ever so slightly and service will not live or die by the bottle. In future weeks, expect local guest DJs as well as world-renowned turntablists gracing those Tao decks.

V Bar: Recently named the Top Hotel Bar by Citysearch.com, V Bar presents a new Tuesday night party, Hint, beginning at 9 p.m. Enjoy a locals-friendly event featuring resident DJ Mike White (formerly of Red Dragon at China Grill). Sponsored by Siku Vodka, look for half-off bottle specials all night. No cover, just add vodka and serve.

Wednesday, May 17

The Beach: Tired of turntables and aching for some live music? Check out the city's best concert value when our own Divided by Eli shares the stage with Deaf Children at Play and the Human Value. Tickets? $5. Having your eardrums shattered? Priceless.

OPM: Celebrate OPM's third anniversary with a performance by Doug E Fresh. Free admission for all industry folks.

Tangerine: Monthly resident DJ Mark Ronson hits the decks.
