Celebrate International Sushi Day with a hands-on sushi-making class led by Chef Winston Matsuuchi at Omakase Kyara Sake Bar on Thursday, June 18.

Designed for beginners, this intimate two-hour experience teaches the fundamentals of sushi preparation, including sushi rice handling, fish slicing, nigiri shaping, sashimi preparation and sushi roll assembly. Guests will work with premium ingredients including tuna, yellowtail, salmon and horse mackerel while learning how texture, temperature and fat content influence flavor and technique.

Each participant will prepare six pieces of sashimi, four pieces of nigiri and two sushi rolls to enjoy during class or package into a take-home sushi box. Complimentary beverages are included, featuring nonalcoholic selections as well as house sake, house wine and draft beer for guests 21 and older. Attendees will also receive a bottle of Matsuuchi-branded Nikiri soy sauce.

Classes are limited to four guests per session and will be held at multiple times throughout the day. Cost is $150 per person. Reservations are required at OmakaseLV.com/events
