Quick Bites: Delilah, Amalfi, the Island at Ellis and more Vegas food news

Delilah is accepting reservations starting on July 14. The supper club transplant from the LA-based H.wood Group, a 1920s-inspired lounge and restaurant expected to blend dining and glamorous nightlife, was originally planned to open at Wynn Las Vegas in the spring of 2020. Now back on track, it’ll debut in the space that once housed fine dining favorite Alex, and the executive chef will be Las Vegas native Josh Smith, formerly in the kitchen at Bardot Brasserie at Aria.

Amalfi has opened at Caesars Palace in the former Mesa Grill restaurant space. Bobby Flay’s first Italian restaurant was inspired by his travels to the Amalfi Coast and aims to transport diners to the Mediterranean with fresh, bright offerings including antipasti, pastas and seafood. Amalfi is open for dinner Sunday through Thursday from 5 until 10 p.m. and until 10:30 Friday and Saturday.

The MGM Grand Buffet is set to reopen on May 26 for breakfast, lunch and weekend brunch. Dishes include made-to-order omelets, buttermilk pancakes, pastry, fresh pasta, seafood, barbecue ribs, lasagna and a dessert bar with cookies, doughnuts, brownies, pies and more. Hours of operation will be Thursday through Monday from 7 a.m. until 2 p.m.

Fresh52 Farmers & Artisans Market is back in action and expanding with two new markets this summer. The Arts District location recently reopened and operates every Friday from 3 until 8 p.m. It joins Inspirada, open every second and fourth Thursday from 3 to 8; Tivoli Village, open Saturday from 10 a.m. until 3 p.m.; and Sansone Park Place, open Sunday from 9 a.m. until 2 p.m. Launching on June 3 is the Lake Las Vegas Market, open every first and third Thursday from 3 to 8 p.m.

The Front Yard at Ellis Island Casino will transform into the Island at Ellis, a kitschy tiki bar pop-up experience, from June 3 through July 4. The Bacardi-sponsored experience include a 15-foot swordfish sign greeting visitors, tropical dishes such as a teriyaki chicken burger and coconut shrimp, and 10 island-themed specialty drinks. It will be open Saturday and Sunday from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. and 4 p.m. to midnight, Monday from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. and 4 to 10 p.m., and Tuesday through Thursday from 4 to 10 p.m.

Sticks Tavern on Water Street in Downtown Henderson will celebrate its grand opening on June 5 with all-day happy hour, giveaways and prizes and a performance by singer Carnell “Golden Pipes" Johnson. The new family-friendly sports bar across from Lifeguard Arena features hockey-themed cocktails, boozy milkshakes and elevated bar food. Normal operating hours are Sunday, Tuesday and Wednesday from 11 a.m. to 11 p.m. and Thursday through Saturday from 11 a.m. until midnight.

Rail Explorers, the outdoor pedal-powered rail bike attraction, has partnered with Boulder City’s Fox Smokehouse BBQ to create the new Messy Rex sandwich and Off the Rails cocktail, available in a buy one, get one half off deal for Rail Explorers who show their Red Rider sticker. The sandwich is pulled pork, mac and cheese and fried pickles, which can also be ordered with reaper pepper, while the cocktail is a rum fruit punch.

Shake Shack has extended its vaccination promotion in New York to all locations throughout the country. Now all four Southern Nevada stores are offering free crinkle cut fries with the purchase of any burger or chicken sandwich to those who can show proof of vaccination, available through June 12.

Quick-serve Guatemala-based franchise Pollo Campero recently announced plans for further expansion in the Las Vegas Valley, aiming for 10 new restaurants in Nevada in the next five years. Known for its citrus-grilled chicken and extra crunchy fried chicken, Pollo Campero is currently operating two stores in North Las Vegas and on East Charleston.
