Quick Bites: Market Place Buffet, Piezza, Marche Bacchus and more Vegas food news

The Rampart Casino and JW Marriott Las Vegas Resort has reopened the Market Place Buffet. The 12,000-square-foot buffet seats more than 700 and serves a vast variety of dishes from its different stations, along with draft beer and wine. Special offerings include the $30 prime rib dinner Thursday through Monday from 4 until 8 p.m. and the $30 weekend Champagne brunch Saturday and Sunday from 9 a.m. until 2 p.m.

Piezza, a do-it-yourself “weigh and pay” pizza restaurant with a drive-thru window, recently opened at 509 Blue Diamond Road. Guests build custom pizzas starting with a base, then choose from 13 toppings, with price dictated by the weight of the finished product. Piezza also serves calzones, strombolis, breakfast pizzas and more. It’s open daily from 11 a.m. until 9 p.m.

Chickie’s & Pete’s, set to open at the Sahara in September, has announced that its general manager will be Katharine “Lee” Lardner (Beerhaus, Tap Sports Bar, Nine Fine Irishmen) and its chef de cuisine will be Isaiah Utter (Avenue Café, Pub 1842). The acclaimed sports bar is now hiring for 50-60 open positions across the front and back of the house.

Marché Bacchus in Desert Shores has introduced a daily brunch menu, available Monday through Saturday from 11 a.m. until 3 p.m. and Sunday from 10 a.m. until 3 p.m. In additional to bottomless mimosas served daily, the menu includes eggs benedict, chicken and waffles, bananas foster pancakes, truffled shrimp and grits, the lobster salad croissant and the bistro bacon burger.

Fuhu, the energetic Asian restaurant from Zouk Group located near Ayu Dayclub and the upcoming Zouk Nightclub at Resorts World, has launched a locals’ prix fixe menu including a three-course meal with signature cocktail for $65, available Sunday through Wednesday.

Black Tap Craft Burgers & Beer is partnering with the Singapore Tourism Board to celebrate the return of the Singapore Food Festival by offering some inspired special dishes that will are available at Black Tap’s New York and Las Vegas locations. The burger joint at Venetian is serving such Singaporean-inspired menu items as Salted Egg Yolk Crazy Fries, the Straits Coconut Shake and a chili crab sandwich, now through September 12.

The next Oscar’s Dinner Series event at Oscar’s Steakhouse at the Plaza is set for September 22 and will feature Oscar Goodman telling the story of Frank Rosenthal in Las Vegas. Tickets for the event start at $300 for two people, including a three-course dinner paired with red and white wines and the signature Oscar Goodman martini.
